Welcome to my website. I’m a passionate amateur songwriter, producer, photographer, videographer, and blogger. I write about my creative process, health issues, and just about anything else that strikes my fancy.
I’m a co-founder and co-host of the Song Talk Radio podcast and Meetup group; producer, drummer and co-songwriter of the indie-folk-rock band Beige Shelter; and I also release my own music.
I invite you to spend some time here, discover something, maybe learn something, have a laugh, and enjoy my musings. Thanks for visiting!

I developed marketing copy targeting private surgeons in Southwestern Ontario for a turnkey service. I also provided the acquisition of stock photography, and layout services for a 12-page brochure. In addition, I created a business card and website with the same visual scheme.
For this client, I created a comprehensive marketing strategy including brochures, magazine advertisements, and a 20-foot tall banner to hang on the side of a local hospital. I also provided writing, layout and graphic acquisition for a simple single-fold brochure targeted at family physicians and other medical specialists as an introduction to the investment opportunity. I created this memorial website on a pro-bono basis as a special request from the deceased's family. The story of his murder was, at the time, receiving some publicity as one of the perpetrators was up for parole after serving time in prison. The writing on the site had to be carefully crafted to reflect the [...]

Beige Shelter had the pleasure of being interviewed on Passion Projects TV. I'm the percussionist, occasional songwriter, and producer for the band. Our host was journalism student Kayla Douglas. We talked about: the band name and where it came from our debut album, Rumours We Make, Paths We Take songwriting and collaborating performing cover songs [...]
I’ve written and recorded a Christmas song for three years in a row – I feel like I’m on a roll. This year, I didn’t have an idea for a new song until I fired up Spotify one day and saw their new Holiday playlists. Front and centre was the 1994 Mariah Carey hit, All [...]
Way back in the day (c. 1988) I started making mix tapes. Now, I realize that these days, a mix of songs on Spotify can be called a mix tape, but I’m talking about the kind of thing that only magnetism and spinning spools can do. Real tapes had restrictions in the way that digital [...]

While on a family weekend getaway in Collingwood to celebrate the beginning of the summer, I awoke at 4:30 am to capture the sunrise over Georgian Bay. From seven people, only my wife and nephew joined me for the early shoot. Not sure about them, but for me, it was totally worth it.
I knew some people participating in the annual colour run, which looked like so much fun I decided to join them for 2016, despite having no interest in running. I only packed my zoom lens, to get close as possible to the runners, and stay as far away as possible from the explosions of coloured [...]
For my third time experiencing the short-lived beauty of the Cherry Blossoms, I had camera in toe once again. The first time was a dawn-time photoshoot, and the second time I decided to focus on the people. This time, I used a neutral density filter to increase shutter times dramatically. This gave some of the [...]
