I worked closely with Tony Dagnone, the former CEO of London Health Sciences Centre, on his presentation for the 2016 CHES Conference. Tony wanted to see some creative “whiteboard” illustrations to bring some visual interest to his narrative. For these animations, I used a combination of stock drawings and my own illustrations.
Most of the time, whiteboard animated videos include a recorded voice-over narration. For Tony’s presentation, I had to time the animations to his live narrative and split the animations to insert into Power Point. This way, an animation would finish before Tony would finish his taking point and remain on the final frame of the video, and he could finish talking before proceeding to the next slide / animation. We also worked collaboratively on streamlining his narrative text.
For some of the slides, a simple photograph sufficed. For others, we needed charts and graphs. Between the several types of media, Tony’s presentation had a great variety and dynamic.
The presentation was very well received, and Tony was complimented on the visual interest of his presentation.

The Facilities Management department at London Health Sciences Centre needed to improve its public profile at the hospital, and one strategy was to produce a Year in Review report to deliver key messages and showcase good work.
I wrote the content, took many of the photos, and designed the document for the 16-page report. Content included:
- letter from the Vice-President
- the Facilities Management team
- Featured Projects
- Infrastructure Improvements
- Visions for the Future
The Facilities Management department at London Health Sciences Centre needed to improve its profile within the hospital’s culture. The internal website I developed served to increase transparency and communication, while showcasing the good work done by the department.
I was responsible for writing, photography, and management of the intranet site. A working group arrived at a consensus for the site architecture, which I then refined and developed streamlined content for each of the pages, including some photography.
While at the Facilities Management department at London Health Sciences Centre, I was responsible for developing the graphical content for the touchscreen wayfinding features, including maps, buttons, and backgrounds, working primarily with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Special care to be taken with planning and exporting the map graphics so that future edits to the maps did not interfere with the wayfinding data points. I also took and edited the photographs for the homepage backgrounds, specifically for each kiosk in a different area of the hospital, following the existing wayfinding colour scheme.
I assisted a supplier of equipment and medical supplies prepare a proposal for exclusive distribution privileges in the Canadian breast implant market. I provided writing, proposal layout and business cards for the new business venture.
I assisted with the Functional Program part of this business plan for an acute care clinic in the remote mining community of Red Lake, Ontario. I interviewed health care staff and providers in the community, and translated their needs into spatial and building service requirements.
I also provided research, writing, photography, and layout services for two additional private, acute care clinic proposals in Ontario for the GW Health Group, inlcuding press-ready files for final production.
Use of Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat.
I created content and design of a visual strategy for a presentation to Centre Hopitalier Princesse Grace in Monaco. Advanced use of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign resulted in a slick, sophisticated A3 size booklet and a 4’ x 3’ presentation panel.
Adobe Acrobat was used as a means to easily communicate with the client during the design process.
I developed marketing copy targeting private surgeons in Southwestern Ontario for a turnkey service. I also provided the acquisition of stock photography, and layout services for a 12-page brochure.
In addition, I created a business card and website with the same visual scheme.
For this client, I created a comprehensive marketing strategy including brochures, magazine advertisements, and a 20-foot tall banner to hang on the side of a local hospital.
I also provided writing, layout and graphic acquisition for a simple single-fold brochure targeted at family physicians and other medical specialists as an introduction to the investment opportunity.
